Meet our Family!

Long story short, it’s just like a story book….they met, fell in love, and continued the farm!

We are Tom & Jamie Schilmiller. We took over the business in 2018 from Larry & Bette Buechler (Buecher Fertilizer and Seed) after their retirement. Tom was born ‘n raised here on the farm and we now raise the 4th generation on the same stomping ground….Watch out, those kiddo’s may be driving a tractor or walking cows when they aren’t in school.

Tom is an exceptional mechanic, tinkering all his life on farm repairs and working in the trucking industry, he’s some sort of MacGyver, always coming up with ways to fix things to keep equipment moving and the world turning. Jamie graduated from Purdue University (Go Purdue!) with her Electrical Degree….but she now runs Homestead Ag Supply LLC full-time, following her heart by educating the public while providing resources on best farming and gardening practices.

Together, we have a tremendous love for the farming life, we want to share it with others!

What we are not? We are not a big box store, lacking knowledge and expertise, just pushing products.
What else are we not? We are not some random couple who bought a business just to make money; we have known the Buechler family all of our lives, this was a family to family transition.

What we are? We are a God loving, family raising, crop planting family….with sometimes a kid chasing a calf back into the fence. We search out the best products to provide for our family of customers, we strive to help you make your garden grow, we literally want to see you succeed! Farming is in our blood. Gardening is our passion. Our goal is to share our enthusiasm for the love of the earth with you, to share in the joys of getting dirty, sweaty and spending time outdoors.
